RAILWAY LINE PIREAS - KIFISIA (EHS - HSAP): Railway line 1 of the Metro of Athens or the "Electric", as we know it the older ones, with a length of 25,7 km, connects the station of Pireas, located at the port, with that of Kifisia. This line was constructed at two different times by different companies. As a connecting station was the Omonia station. The first line (which is the first integrated line, built in Greece), was the line from Athina to Pireas of the company Sidirodromon Athinon - Pireos SAP (Athina - Pireas Railway). The second line was the one that connected Athina with Kifisia of the company Sidirodromi Atikis SA (Railways of Attica). Details on the development of the individual networks until 1938, when the connection between Athina and Kifisia ceased to exist, with a steam railway, can be found in the individual references to the old lines. The harbinger of the current form of the line came with the signing of a supplementary contract on 23 July 1954 between the Greek State and Eliniki Ilektriki Sidirodromi EHS (Greek Electric Railways), which granted the right to operate the line by the HEM to the EHS. On the existing alignment of the old metric line Athina - Kifisia, with small digressionsay, the construction of a double line of normal range with electrification from Attiki to Kifisia will begin, thus unifying the two networks in one and connecting Pireas with Kifisia. On 1 March 1948 Victoria station was put into use, on 30 June 1949 the station of Attiki. On 22 November 1954 the inauguration of Petralona station takes place and on 12 February 1956 for three stations, Aghios Nikolaos, Kato Patisia and Ano Patisia. Respectively, on 14 March 1956, at the stations Perissos and Nea Ionia, on 5 July 1956 at Pefkakia station and on 4 August 1961 at Aghios Eleftherios station. On 4 March 1957, the new Iraklio station was inaugurated in place of the old station of Sidirodromi Atikis. On 1 September 1957, Marousi station was inaugurated and it in place of the corresponding older one. Finally, on 10 August 1957, with the delivery to traffic of the station of Kifisia, created the final form of the "Electric" Athens Railways of EHS and later HSAP. After that we have the addition of four new stations: the station Irini which was inaugurated on 3 September 1982 and which still serves today the newly built then Olympic Stadium of Athens in which the same year the European championship was held, in 1989 the stations KAT (Hospital) and Tavros-Eleftherios Venizelos and the Neratziotissa station which was inaugurated in 6 August 2004. This is the final composition of the network, as it still exists today.
