ATTICA RAILWAYS: In December 1882, the company of Attica Railways (SA) was founded with a share capital of 6.000.000. The main project of the company is the construction and operation of Athina-Iraklio-Lavrio line with a junction to Kifissia. Since 16 October 1925 works began on the unification of transport in Attica, when on 1 April 1926, the HEM was founded, which would operate the Athens and Piraeus tramways (except the coastal line) as well as the Attica Railway line Athens - Kifissia, which they continued to own. In 1929 the SPAP acquired the line Iraklio - Lavrio which was then connected with the line Pireas - Korinthos with a fork at Aghioi Anarghiri station. On 8 August 1938, the last route of the steam railway from Athina to Kifissia took place, when the dismantling of the line began, which marked the end of the company.
