RAILWAY LINE KALAMBAKA - KOZANI:
The railway connection between Kalambaka - Kozani is an old idea, which although it was attempted twice to be implemented, in the end this was not possible. On 27 August 1925, the Greek Government signed a contract with the Belgian trading company Societe Commercialle de Belgique, which, among other things, provided for the construction of a regular line 1,435m width, which would connect Kalambaka with Kozani. Work began in 1926, but by 1932 only 17,5 km of the line was laid and a sufficient number of stations and infrastructure were constructed. Work was halted due to the economic crisis that existed at that time, ingloriously completing the first attempt to build the line. The second attempt followed in the 50's, where with the layer of the line Aminteo - Kozani, in 1953-54 the 25 km long line layer from Kozani to Siatista was prepared, which was never completed. Finally, the second attempt suffered the same fate as the first. Today along the network there are several "ghost" stations as well as bridge supports and territorial engravings of the line under construction.
