RAILWAY LINE PIREAS - ATHINA - AIRPORT - KORINTHOS:
The railway line of the suburban network of Athens began on 30 July 2004 with the operation of the line Athina - Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos), initially combining twin diesel cars and then with electric ones. On 27 September 2005 the Athina - Korinthos line began operating, which with continuous expansions in 2007 reached to Kiato, while on 22 June 2020 it arrived in Eghion, with the prospect of connecting Athina with Patra. Later in 2013 with the electrification of the Athina - Chalkis line, it was also included in the network of suburban. The name of the network came from the subsidiary company of OSE "PROASTIAKOS", founded in 2003, in order to serve the operation of the suburban network in Athens during the 2004 Olympic Games. Finally, the company in July 2007 was absorbed by TRAINOSE, which even today continues to use the logo, but also the title on the existing lines. Today the suburban railway of Athens consists of five lines: Pireas - Athina - Airport, Pireas - Athina - Kiato, Athina - Inoi - Chalkis, Ano Liosia - Metamorfosi - Koropi - Airport and Eghion - Kiato - Airport.
