RAILWAY LINE DIAKOPTO - KALAVRITA:
On 10 March 1889, a contract was signed by Charilaos Trikoupis as President of the Council of Ministers, Stefanos Dragoumis Minister of Interior and A.N. Simopoulos Chairman of the Board of Directors of SPAP, for the construction and operation for 92 years of the Diakopto - Kalavrita line, 22,350 km long (of which 3,4 km for rack railway), and a line width of 0,75 meters. The convention was ratified by the Parliament on 7 April 1889. On 10 March 1896, the operation of the line began. This line continues to operate until today, as a tourist attraction. The starting point of the kilometer numbering of the stations, is the station of Diakopto.
